Andrea began riding at the age of 8 when she received lessons as a birthday gift. That began a life long passion not just for riding, but for understanding the horses she works with. As a junior Andrea had the opportunity to ride with many elite dressage trainers such as Mary-Beth Mclean and Michelle Fuldon. Learning the fundamentals of dressage helped her to develop a systematic approach to both her riding and training. Following her junior career in dressage, Andrea spent many years at Willis Farms working with young horses. She developed a passion for creating a willing, responsive, and consistent sporthorse.
From 2009 to early 2012, Andrea taught lessons and trained horses at Equine Country in Jacksonville, NC. In early 2012, she moved to Missouri and began training with Karissa Cassidy of Katalyst Sporthorses.
Late 2012 saw another move to Clarksville, Tennessee, where Andrea Stephens Sporthorses offers training and instruction for hunter/jumper and dressage enthusiasts.
